Pnethood Samba Shares not showing shares

My 2 cts worth: * Pnethood Samba Shares is not finding any shares. The computers are found, but no shares. Has worked flawlessly before with older Puppies. I have tested it on 3 machines (factory standard Compaqs D510 D530 D330) and as I'm running a mixed environment it's a real showstopper for me. ...

Yep, this is something I really miss. There's no easy overview of reported (and/or confirmed) bugs.

Pnethood & samba shares

Hi all,

can anyone confirm the issue I encountered using Pnethood? Setting up the network is no problem, but Pnethood only finds the (XP) computers on the network. Not the shares.

Machine is a factory standard Compaq D510.

thx,
Martin

Pnethood

Upup 463 iso, live cd. Is it just me, or don't we have Samba yet? Pnethood does not find my shared folder on the XP machine Gerry Same here. Network setup works just fine, internet is OK, but Pnethood only finds the PC's, not the shares. My Sitecom Netdisk isn't discovered at all. Gxine crashes, Pu...

For you guys trying Intrepid Puppy and experiencing what seem like Xorg-related problems (like it freezing when click on icons), try tronkel's Debian Lenny build, as that has Xorg 7.3 (Ubuntu Intrepid has 7.4, which has many issues). Re: still no i810 driver

My Dell laptop needs a "real" i810 xorg driver to display its native 1024x768 like was in Puppy 3.1. lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 12 2008-07-17 15:46 i810_drv.so -> intel_drv.so -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 307156 2007-11-28 20:42 intel_drv.so The current i810_drv.so is a symlink to the intel driver ...

Thanks ICPUG!

Copying the driver from Puppy 3 did the trick. Do you happen to know the reason why this driver is no longer available in Dingo?

The Intel 810 Video system did not have a driver in Dingo and caused strange effects with Xorg. This sounds similar, although the effect is different. You can find how I solved the Intel810 problem at: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=29144 Just in case it helps. ICPUG Thanks, this ...

Re: Problem with Puppy 4.00 with Intel 845G video and Xorg

Look at /etc/X11/xorg.conf read the comments, see what's enabled, see if there is something you can disable. Would be helpful to compare it with xorg.conf from version 2.17 (I suspect) Good suggestion Disable screen saver as shown in picture below. With Xorg I never get to this point. Maybe my desc...

Problem with Puppy 4.00 with Intel 845G video and Xorg

I can not configure my videocard in Puppy 4.00 using Xorg. XVesa is fine, and Puppy 2.17 on the same system works fine with Xorg. However, when I choose Xorg in 4.00 my screen goes into powersave mode.

System is a Compaq 510 USDT, Intel 845G chipset. Any help would greatly appreciated.
