Apologies tempestuous I did not notice the replies to my post... I did not have to use this as I got a software IP phone that forwards call to my mobile.. thanks for the help though..am sure someone else will come looking for this and will find it useful...

Cannot see sfs file in boot manager

Hi,

I downloaded the file, md5 checksum matches up and I have put the file under /mnt/home but it does not show up in boot manager, any one know why?

How to bridge my wireless interface to Ethernet port?

Hi,

I have an IP phone that only has Ethernet over Copper, I was thinking of connecting it to my Ethernet port on my desktop that I run Puppy Linux 5.2.5, by bridging these 2 interfaces. Is this possible? I believe Puppy needs the bridging utils but not sure how to go about it, any help will be ...

thanks for the replies... I did try them out but no difference... the browser just freezes when I tried the Java Test Page. If I have Java Console I can see the class files for that site are loading.. is there some kind of log file to see what really is causing the browser to freeze up?

@WO - yes, have tried that and Opera verifies that it can find the java files it is looking for..all the more strange then as to what more it is looking for...

is there a place where I can get a trace log of somekind? abouy 62 ...

Must have's:
1) Should have the latest Opera or Firefox
2) Should have Flash and Java both working flawlessly

On another note I have been struggling to get the Java plugin to work with Opera 10 that comes with tipsy, any pointers?

Also why wouldn't the Open Office 3.1.1 sfs not load if I configure it with the boot manager ...

thanks for the reply... I checked and looks like the sym link already exists:

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 46 2009-10-02 18:14 libjavaplugin_oji.so -> /usr/java/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so

If I do a find then I can see the file does exist so there is probably something else that is missing ...

Java 1.6 pet for Opera 10

I am running Tipsy with Opera 10, I ran the Java 1.6 pet from here: http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=27341

The install threw up a bunch of missing library files but on the thread it says they can be ignored... I can see the Opera is validating the path located here - /usr/java/lib/i386 ...

Open Office 3.1.1 sfs not loading...

I am running Tipsy and Open Office sfs does not load when I set it up during boot.. tried the same with Puppy 4.3 and it works fine.. any ideas what is a miss in Tipsy that is causing it? any pointers on where to look to start troubleshooting?

stuck at 'loading applet'

hi...
I tried this pet with Tipsy with Opera, when I check the validate java path in Opera it confirms it however opening a java applet freezes the browser and I can see in the top left corner a window which when I expand says 'loading applet' but does not go further...

List of all sfs available?

Is there one place where I could see where all the sfs are available for Puppy Linux 4?

I went to the download page and checked under sfs_modules but guess that is not the right place... while searching saw reference to vlc.sfs, firefox.sfs, java.sfs etc but cant seem to find them.

couple of issues with Tipsy

yes..I will second that again.. would like to see this ported to 4.3, I just love this puppy and having a lot of fun playing with it :) couple to things that am still working on is to get Java for Opera to work and once while watching youtube the browser froze up probably something to do with flash ...
