dropbox 2015.02.12 (3.0.3) Pet Needed (SOLVED?)
Every time dropbox updates our old pets stop working. Can someone make a pet for this recent version of dropbox. Hopefully it will wok with Slacko 5.7.

It would appear that the latest version of Dropbox requires the latest version of Puppy. Tried installing to slacko 5.7 but no go. Works fine in Tahr...
That's OK. I should be working with the latest version of Puppy anyway. I guess soon the 5.7 players will fail as that usually follows. I have found multiplatform soft wear to be quite stable in the Linux field unless they also have to interface with the dreaded Windows machines... OH well...
On to Tahr and as always Puppy rules... THNAKS.

Ok was testing 3.4.3 last nice... does seem to work as expected on Lucid pup which has no dbus or other updates so not sure what the situation is now for newer pups.
They have changed to qt5 which is gross bloat city for the job in hand (login and prefs) but wxwidgets can be very gtk2 intolerant...may have been the previous problem.
Command line usage needs python adding.... are these guys in a competition with google and adobe for the fattest software ever
There used to be a neat static dropbox binary floating around but not sure where it came from... perhaps one of those might at least tidy things up a bit.

Dropbox on Slacko 5.7 needs Dbus upgrade to work
In Slacko 5.7, you only need to upgrade Dbus, as I wrote in the first post in the thread - http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=95100 (red fonts) - and I gave, still there, Dbus information for download it from my repository.zandoval wrote: No luck sofar... In Tahrpup, there's already a more recent, native Dbus. That's why it works on it.
Taking account of people who don't

I know for sure that, from 1.8.12 Dbus version, it's OK for Dropbox, but if someone know that a minor version could also be OK, let me know. I have to establish a referential version (<=>).
