I only compiled this to get one of its internal libraries (thus some missing features - I disabled anything that could be), but thought I'd share it anywaysThunar is a new modern file manager for the Xfce Desktop Environment. Thunar has been designed from the ground up to be fast and easy-to-use. Its user interface is clean and intuitive, and does not include any confusing or useless options. Thunar is fast and responsive with a good start up time and directory load time. Thunar is accessible using Assistive Technologies and is fully standards compliant.

I see that you have also installed the proper icons for the MIME types (not included in my .pet)
batch renaming is not enable either, but I bet it could be hacked with an appropriate symylink to puppy's batch renamer depending on how Thunar sends the signal

Hi technosaurus
I downloaded you pet and found that it would not open with openwith command because it was missing some files. I made a pet and if you do not mind I will post it here. What I added was desktop-file-utils and tbd-tools.

By all means - unless you plan to maintain the Thunar package (I'm not). Then I would recommend starting a different thread, so that you control the top post.GrumpyWolfe wrote:Hi technosaurus

All right!! Yess!!
Thanks so much for the pet Pri. I already had the Neu-blue theme, which I ported from Quirky NOP (you have excellent taste by the way '
' ). I just couldn't figure out how to get Thunar to show the icons. Your pet works great. I've been wanting to use Thunar outside of Xfce Window Manager for a while...not that Xfce is bad; I just like to switch up my window managers for a change of scenery. ROX-Filer is not bad..but I wish it had a copy-and-paste function, instead of just drag-and-drop.
Also, I happened to notice that there's a new Thunar pet in the ibiblio repos for Wary. Coincidence?! Thanks again for the pet.

Ha ha, yes, I did mean to post here about that Thunar in the Wary repo, see my blog post:
http://bkhome.org/blog/?viewDetailed=02224
It is the same binaries as technosaurus compiled. Note that it works with nice icons, doesn't need any extra icon-set as it shares the ROX-Filer and other icons already in Puppy.
Feedback in my blog though is that it crashes when try to display thumbnail of a jpg in Wary, so it is going to have to be recompiled for Wary. Should work fine in Lucid.

Thunar file manager
Thanks for making this available. I'm using the PET package from Barry, and it's working fine in both Lucid 5.20 and 5.25.
Thunar - custom icons
I have discovered another technique to use custom icons with Thunar.
Just make file named "/root/.gtkrc.mine" and move your custom settings
over from the "/root/.gtkrc-2.0" file.
When you select a new GTK theme. The .gtkrc-2.0 file will be rewrittien,
but the .gtkrc.mine file will stay the same.
I discovered this when I installed GrumpyWolfe's thunar pet in Lighthouse Pup.

you can always use lxappearance to change icons

Nice
Nice! I was going to make a simple script to switch themes instead
of manually editing the .gtkrc.mine file, but LXAppearance is way better.

Thanks alexandrion!
And thank you Barry for the thunar-w5 pet.
Both will be great additions to a new puplet that I'm working on.
