[SOLVED] How to do updates in Bionicpup32?

#1 Post by fjd »

Hiyall,
I'm slowly coming to grips with Puppy.
In every OS I have ever used, there is always provision to update the software. I wonder why I can find how to update in Puppy?

The signature info says Bionicpup 32bit.

Only Bionicpup64 8.0 (64bit) has Quickpet.

Bionicpup32 8.0 (32bit) does delta files to do updates.
Info here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/zestyp ... c/updates/

Get off the idea that you must constantly update software.
Puppy Linux does not constantly update.
There is software in Puppy that is years old.
Why?
Because it still works and does what is needed.
Does not need an update.

Web browsers are about the only software that constantly needs updates.
Usually the browser has an update feature built into it or will tell you how when there is an update for it.
The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.

Bigpup,
thanx for the answer. I was rather hoping that's what you'd say. I'm of the school of 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it.'
And for the record, this is my only computer that will rarely use the internet.

There may be some bug fixes added to Bionicpup32 8.0 by using these delta files.

But, very true!
