https://ok.ru/ is a Russian video streaming site like youtube. Excellent for movies, music videos, etc. Let's explore a way to search for, watch and download a movie:
1. No need to login to the site. Search from google, eg: ok.ru Misery will give you video links for this movie. Clicking a video link will take you to a page where you can watch the video streamed online.
2. A secure, quick way to download with resume functionality: note that the video link for streaming will normally look like this: https://ok.ru/video/239713520360. To download, add m. to the link and open the new link (https://m.ok.ru/video/239713520360) > do not start the player in this new link > right-click on the video player window and choose copy link location (using Palemoon). This will give you the download link for the video which will be valid and resumable for about 24 hours. Typically, the download link will look like this: https://m.ok.ru/dk?st.cmd=moviePlayback ... st.mq=2&st.mvid=239713520360&st.ip=197.229.2.20&st.dla=on&st.exp=1570415732937&st.hls=off&_prevCmd=movieLayer&tkn=589
Okay, the download link looks intimidating but look at the part I have in bold. This indicates the video quality (resolution) depending on the quality of the video available on the server. If the video is one of high quality, there will be different resolutions available for download. The default is normally mq=2 which is 480P. mq=3 is 720P and mq=5 is 1080P. So you can change the quality setting in the download link before downloading the video with your download application.
3. Sometimes you have an "embedded" video. In this case the video link will look like this eg: https://ok.ru/videoembed/239713520360. To download such a video, delete "embed" from the link and add m. as mentioned above.
4. Note that many videos on this site have Russian soundtracks (it's a Russian site afterall) or subtitles in other languages. Just need to check first before downloading.
