Short story:
Here is a nice link providing the solution:
https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums ... -linux-571
Long story:
I was trying to install pip on my python 3.3.
I got error similar to this
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/497 ... ol-version
After a couple of minutes of browsing I came across the solution link. After installing openssl_1.0.1-4ubuntu5.39_i386.deb and libssl1.0.0_1.0.1-4ubuntu5.39_i386.deb collected via PPM, my problem got solved. I could install pip.
Initially I had:
OpenSSL 1.0.1 14 Mar 2012
built on: Mon Apr 15 15:27:09 UTC 2013
Now I have:
OpenSSL 1.0.1 14 Mar 2012
built on: Mon Jan 30 20:36:37 UTC 2017
Though I found one puppy forum link for openssl 1.0.2. I have to test it. http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=106422
Thought, this solution may be needed for our puppy friends who are still on Precise 5.7.1. If it helps, I shall be very happy.
Sincerely,
Srinivas Nayak
