Running Technic Launcher on Puppy Linux

I am using precise 5.71 but I would guess similar measures will work on other Puppies.
When Technic Launcher is opened for the first time, it asks where to store its files. The default location is /root/.technic.
Do not choose this. If you do, your savefile will be full in no time. The games also run painfully slowly. Make a directory elsewhere, in my case /mnt/home/technic.

I tried making a savefile on a flashdrive to run Minecraft and Technic off but it has proven to be very slow. I might reorganise the files so .technic is in /mnt/home instead of the save file.

If anyone has any tips about how to get Technic and Minecraft running properly off a flash drive, please share them
