I plugged in a hdmi cable between laptop and 4k tv screen. zarfy autoconfigured 4096 x 2069(?) @ 29mhz using intel driver. The touch panel maps to the larger screen not the laptop screen. This may be the cause of misalignment on normal pups between touch and cursor! Moved wbar to 'top' and drive icons to left. So big 4k screen is more usable.
Refined sfs-unattended-remaster. After remaster, boot becomes verbose! Stops at nox. Run xorgsetup then xorgwiz-vintage or xorgwizard. Removed a few bugs.
Have refdnd (desktop file router) running very well. Will post a combo sfs later.

make sure /lib/cpp is a symlink to /usr/bin/cppstemsee wrote:I am trying to compile stuff (jamin, jack rack etc) form source but keeps throwing up error '/lib/cpp fails sanity check' - help!
make sure 3_dev-extra (or 3_dev-lib) sfs is loaded along with devx.
2_qt5 has a few deps as well (libsndfile, for example)
run gslapt and check jack and jack-audio-connection-kit.
Salix will add these dependencies:
celt
libconfig
libraw
libiec
libxml++
libffado
libsamplerate
and install.
go back to source (I tried jamin from sourceforge) and go. It worked for me.

Finally fixed sfs-direct-remaster and sfs-unattended-remaster to work as originally intended.
I am going to test eaglemode zui (zoomable user interface). As for touchscreen operation it sounds like an ideal solution or at least a great alternative when using tablet mode on a touch laptop, providing the touch gestures can be mapped to the eaglemode input instead of mouse/touchpad.
Here is a screeny of my current layout which remains constant wether a 2nd 4k display is attached or not.

also, have you figured out the skippy with aufs-utilities? I was thinking it may be a problem following symlinks, since most distros have a /usr/lib but lighthouse links /usr/lib to /usr/lib64. tried various mkdir & mv -f in ubuild.sh to no avail.

JL64-701 iso
Just-Lighthouse64-701b.iso uploaded - 2016/10/18.
see opening post for link
see opening post for link
reuploaded 3 files to gdrive:
Additional sfs files (packages removed from JL64-701 are ffm-mediacenter-2, goffice_suite, x-screensaver and samba. 5_JL64-701 (desktop enhancements) contains icon themes, ob themes, etc.
Note on samba: If you use pcmanfm (lxde), dolphin (kde), caja (mate) or thunar (xfce), nothing needs done. However, gvfs does need to run (xfce). They will mount samba shares automatically. Samba simple management/lamesmb are only necessary if you only run rox file manager.
Also, SUKK now adds aufs-utils correctly (I was previously using a corrupted script). New kernel configuration for k4.8.2.

Delta patch to update iso: Just-Lighthouse64-701f.iso___Just-Lighthouse64-701f2.iso.delta at gdrive repo (19 M)
new sfs files to accommodate. Old ones will be removed soon
Current with Slackware64 - 12 Nov 2016
0Micko's shell for losetup solved many issues. Works great!
still k4.8.4 but new initrd.xz
mate upgraded to 1.16 all msb
generated '701f2' iso contains surf and gvfs addons (redundant in js185-webkit-2.sfs and Xfce-4.12.0-1-x86_64-10.sfs respectively) so the iso is 331 M

Hi Dryfalls.
Have a question for you: I went to frugal install the latest JL64-f, and it would not start up. On 4 entirely different machines. I use grub4dos, so I had made the entry to boot JL64 just like this (after first creating a folder called 'lighthouse'):
title JustLighthouse64
find --set-root --ignore-floppies --ignore-cd /lighthouse/initrd.xz
kernel /lighthouse/vmlinuz pmedia=usbflash
initrd /lighthouse/initrd.xz
Tried it on all four diff machines, none of which have any radeon and/or nvidia cards, and JL64 just would not boot at all, not even making it past beginning tp first boot up.
So I opened your 'grub.config' examples (after Uextracting the ISO---and that is how I copy my 'frugal' installs, extract the ISO, and copy everything over into a folder--hence, here is the "lighthouse" I created on the USB drive) and found in all the entries of the 'grub.config' example that instead of it listing 'kernel', it says 'linux' for the vmlinuz line. What??? Can I ask why? I mean, grub4dos, as far as I know, does not even recognize the term 'linux', and sure enough, when I put 'linux' in place of the word 'kernel' above in the gurb4dos entry, grub4dos won't even recognize it and/or let you select it. Just curious why, since grub4dos is used by a lot of murga-goers, all us gringos got killed off at the pass....hahaha
...... with this 'linux' wording stuff??
