as you probably expected I couldn't resist to try Geogebra.
GEOGEBRA - Educational Software:
This is really good educational software and will do for school / highschool mathematics. Best thing is graphics and formulas are always both visible and can be edited interactively.
It is written in Java and I didn't even try to compile it so you have to install java, e.g. java-1.6.16]this link.
and then download the Geogebra package. It is 110 MB, so better download it to a hard disk. Run it by the geogebra.sh script in its directory. Starting point is the homepage http://www.geogebra.org
