I should point out its 60mb and it does not have Tuxpaint (which is on the to do list)

CAn someone pl confirm the checksum/integrity of the .sfs file please on both the sites. I downloaded the file from BOTH places multiple times and am getting different md5sums which don't match with the one given.

Also pl tell em where can i find Gcompris in the Menu.
Thanks and Happy New Year.

Sorry for the late reply, only just got round to getting life and the kids back to some sort of normality.

I have just checked the md2sum from the 1st link and your right, its nothing like the one i posted, i got 0a3f44a5c408d9e039512bb2636e6ed.

It is now on the list.

Gcompris should come up under Fun. I will check again.

Thanks you for replying and apologies for the delay in giving feed back. I too got the same md5sum as you posted, just think that you missed a 9 at the end of the md5sum.

Either way, if that is the Md5sum, it is not working. The sfs is activated in the boot menu, but no entry is present in the Menu anywhere or in Fun menu either. Clicking on the file, says failed to mount/unmount which makes me feel that the file is corrupted/hash failed.

Request you to please test it and post a correct sfs file with md5sum.

Hi

Thanks for posting the file.
Can you please post in on some other site other than megaupload as well. Tried twice to download. Both times download stops midway and doesn't proceed further.

Does megaupload have a daily limit for free users? It seems to suggest i have exceeded daily limit.

Hi

Downloaded the file. Hash matches. Boot manager says it is loaded. Clicking on it also says it is already loaded. So all seems well.
However no where in the menu can I see Gcompris. Not in Fun menu or elsewhere.

I don't no any command line way to test further.

Working thru command line

#11 Post by narendra.d73 »

Update: Tried starting thru terminal by typing "gcompris" and it worked.

The Gcompris Admin console and other things I don't know how to access yet and need more exploration.

@sidders:Thanks you once more.

Hi sidders,
I am running this on 01micko's spup-055. Works great, also I installed the slackware Tuxpaint using ppm which works great and can even be launched from gcompris. I installed tuxpaint-0.0.9.21, tuxpaint-config-0.0.12, tuxpaint-stamps-2009.06.28, and svgalib-1.9.25. The slackware repositories in ppm had everything necessary except libvga.so.1.4.3 and it's link libvga.so.1.

You may want to use spup for your next update.

Cheers,
Jim
