jpilot on puppy 4.3.1

#1 Post by tmay »

Hello all, I have a Palm Treo700p that I would like to sync to my laptop. I am running puppy 4.3.1 . I have jpilot installed, and have been able to get it to sync twice. Is there something that I can change to make this thing sync like it is supposed to. It is only working intermittently. If anyone is willing to help or point me to a discusion where this has already been solved I would greatly appreciate it. I have found a few write ups on this but I am new to puppy linux and still learning and i just dont understand what changes need to be made.

Since you've been able to sync twice already, this might help.

For me, I realised I could get my PDA to sync consistently when I pressed Hotsync on my PDA before clicking the sync button in JPilot.

Also, if I don't give enough of a pause between the two (i.e., less than about a second), I'd get the "Bind error". But clicking the sync button in Jpilot again would then start the synch process ok.

Hope this helps.

(PDAs: Sony CLIE SJ20, SJ30, TH55, and found I needed to do the simple trick of clicking on the PDA first for Puppies 4.3.1 and 5.0.1)

Thanks for the reply. I have tried this and was unsuccessful. I have also tried changing usb settings still no luck. does any one know how to confirm what settings the usb port would be set to?
