How to stereomix? (Plus some comments & observations.)

#1 Post by jeditalian »

stereomix. ventrilo. ok thats a bad combo. there is a linux verion of ventrilo that works just as well as puppys internet browser works with flash content. i dont really care about the ventrilo until its actually fully functional. but it is working well enough that you can talk and listen. no comments or anything yet just talk and listen.
what i'm really looking for is a way to stereomix. i just cant find it.
dont see any mention of stereomixing when i am looking at stuff about sound card. not in multimedia, alsamixer, zmixer.
ok. i mentioned stereomixing.
now to make the browser just a little more user friendly.. woudnt it just take about 2 short lines of code to make the browser search google instead of giving you the error message "the url is not valid and cannot be loaded" when you press enter after typing something in the address bar. actually i think you would end up using less code because you could remove the error message code and replace it with a command that is the equivalent of clicking the search button, which is what i thought enter would do in the first place.
but i failed java programming so i cant really get all specific.
i dont know what the current code looks like but if it was something like IF urlnotvalid THEN display errormsg "The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded"
then it could be like IF urlnotvalid Then clicksearchbutton.
lol i know that is not proper code at all but i think you could figure out what im saying, just throw in whatever script executes when you click the Search button into the space occupied by the script that tells the error message to pop up. then that saves alot of key/mouse strokes because i cant even figure out how to highlight the Search button to be able to press it with the spacebar or enter key.

if you could code an entire GUI OS in javascript, would that eliminate conflicts with flash, suchas unexpected closing of puppy browser because of flash content overload? cuz flashis java isnt it?

i really like the new feature that was making me very angry in the beginning until i figured out what was going on. not sure if its an intentional feature, but i see why it would be intentional. if i brush left or right on a certain area of my touchpad, it simulates the browsers back and forward buttons. that is very useful, its just that i didnt know they had done that, and i was like WTF why does my browser goback by itself. but its right at the dividing line that separates my scrollwheel touchpad portion from the cursormovement touchpad area, on the bottom of the line. its really efficient use of touchpad. i use to hit it on accident all the time.. but now that i know where it is, i can actually use it for good instead of Pi$#%ng me off :)
