I don't think they've got network multiplayer going yet Wosifat. They're working on it though. Maybe a release or two from now it'll be available.

Code: Select all

tar yxf supertuxkart-0.6-linux1486.tar.bz2
Complains that it is not a bzip2 file

Is there a PET for this, please?

We are going on a brief trip soon and the 7 year old needs to be well-occupied with Puppy games!

I am using 4.2.1 on the laptop where I am loading-up games. More than one is not responding. :-(

I downloaded and loaded his new xarchiver (v4) and got the same error.

So I downloaded his "fixed-sources" and xarchiver handled that.

But when I tried to open the supertuxkart I still received the same error.

I am going to reboot and see if that fixes it ...

Nope ... xarchiver 0.5.2svn-r28705 says:

"Archive format is not recognized!"

Greetings! :)

Just downloaded S-Tux Kart 0.6, just because I happened to see this thread on the main puppy page, and because my kids run S-Mario Kart in some N64 emulator. Thought I'd give them the penguin alternative also.
Will install on their boxes later this week :) .

Anyway, I had no problems extracting the archive with Xarchiver 0.5.2 in Puppy 214X11 :) .

So, edoc, if you want, I can upload a .zip of S-Tux Kart 0.6, if you have somewhere you'd want it uploaded to.

Cheers/

I located and loaded a version of miniracer - it is working - so the immediate need has been met.

Would still love to have Super TuxKart!

What is going on here...I unpacked the supertuxcart bzip2 in Xarchive on puppy 2.12...seems a little odd.

Edoc if you have any playstation one games then epsxe mentioned in this section works well on puppy too. You can make images of the game cd's to for convenience.

SUPER PUPPY KART? :D

Super Tux Kart has a brand new logo:

Image

Now what does this logo have in common with the official Puppy logo?

Image

The author of the new logo is one of our Puppians - the well-known Puppy lover, Rastapax

How many of you want to see Puppy (or Superpup) as a playabe character in Super Tux Kart?

Woof woof!

Please help me!

#31 Post by fejesg »

Hello, Everybody!

Please help me. I had got an old Compaq Armada 1750, and I would like to set for my older Son, playing with Supertuxkart and Supertux2.

It is problem that inside notebook there is no HDD, I can use FDD and CDROM (with there I can start Puppy 4.3, it will be good for my Son); I would like to make a "Remastered Puppy CD".

I downloaded Linux programs (Supertuxkart, Supertux2), extracted onto libraries, tryed to run sh executable binaries, but they are not running.

WHY? Please help me!

This particular game would unfortunately not run on a Compaq Armada 1750...you need at least a 800MHz cpu and a 3d graphics card. There are plenty of other games on here though that would probably work just fine

I made a .pet for supertuxkart 6.2. :D

http://dotpups.de/puppy4/dotpups/Games/ ... 2-i486.pet

I need someone to test it and make sure it works, 8MB of shared video RAM won't exactly run this game. ;)

Was it ITAmember's pet or the main tar.bz2? He did say it was untested.

Navigate to /usr/share/supertuxkart/, delete run_game.sh, and extract the attached file in that directory. Then post here and tell me if that works. :)
