Note: you might need to install firefox 2.0.0.7 from the .pet file before doing this.
First go download the firefox-3.0.1.tar.bz2 file from mozilla (google it) Than go to tmp and create a folder called "firefox3" and move firefox-3.0.1.tar.bz2 to there.
Next, click on the fie and extract everything to there. It should all be in a folder called firefox. Rename that folder to firefox-3.0.1and than copy that folder and put it in /opt/mozilla.org/lib/
Than copy the file "firefox" from /opt/mozilla.org/lib/firefox-3.0.1 and put it in /opt/mozilla.org/bin/.
Next open up the firefox file as text, and look for the line that starts with "moz_libdir=" (should be the first non-comment line) and change it to "moz_libdir=/opt/mozilla.org/lib/firefox-3.0.1"
After that, you should be done. Enjoy.

Does this work better than the ready made SFS or .pets here?

Considering that I've never had a .pet that isn't from the puppy package manager download thing that hasn't ruined my setup and spit about 50 missing lib errors at me, I'm going to say yes, and I don't recommend any of the pets here to anyone who doesn't have a backup of their system.Lobster wrote:?![]()
