Bionic pup64 - JWM: bottom status bar disappeared (SOLVED)

#1 Post by UncleScrooge »

I was disabling applications with the JWM Menu manager, and the bottom satus bar disappeared. I still have the Menu starter and the tray but all the rest has gone.

JWM 2.3.7. JWMDesk 2.4.3

anybody knows how to restore it?

PS: autohide in the tray attributes is disabled

Hello !

I've done this also before! Usually a restart of the Window Manger in the reboot/shutdown/restart X/restart window manager will re-establish the tray.

That didn't help. I restarted all the services. And rebooted several times.

What solved the problem was restoring in JWM the backup tray profile.
Of course, since I'm prone to be a sloth when it comes to back-ups, the back up I had was from almost a month ago, so I had to fish back, for example, those two nice lines to disable the manuse wheel from scrolling through virtusl desktops (I found them in a forum thread weeks ago, but I can't reember exactly where):

in /root/.jwm/jwmrc-personal:

Code: Select all

<!-- disable mouse wheel scrolling between virtual desktops -->
<RootMenu onroot="4"/>
<RootMenu onroot="5"/>
