Howto set up a "Cobalt" theme in Geany

#1 Post by jafadmin »

The GEdit and Xed editors have a yummy programmer's theme called "Cobalt".

This is my mod of the programmer's Cobalt theme for Geany.

Extract it into the "/root/.config/geany/colorschemes" directory.

From the Geany menu, select [View]->[Change color scheme]-> then select "Cobalt"

For extra points, edit /usr/share/geany/filedefs/filetypes.common and change the caret_width to 3

Code: Select all

geany -i %s
in the box labeled Command, and you can do it throught right click>Context Action (you could obviously program it to do something else with the file or text, but this is a use for that menu item).

geanythemes.pet

with the above pet (compatible with 1.22 and above) you can change geany's color scheme through view>change color scheme (or alt+v, c).
you can try that one, but i don't remember if i put cobalt blue in it.

here it is as an attachment:

Hi, just a little thing. I went for the "extra points" :) and found a little typo?:
For extra points, edit /usr/share/geany/filedefs/filedefs.common and change the caret_width to 3
I found the filename as "filetypes.common" (Xenial32).

Thanks for the themes. I didn't know how to change the colours in Geany until now!

Cheers
