traytemp

#1 Post by artsown »

traytemp uses a yad method of placing icons on a tray. Forum member
SFR provided a working model of the method. It's currently at version 1.4
http://home.ptd.net/~artnpeg/traytemp_1.4.pet

In order to avoid having separate 32/64 bit versions .... and to be
compatible with older pups as well as the latest ..... the installation
provides a appropriate and recent version of yad (which has had
considerable recent development).

Like my overheat scripts, traytemp generates periodic popup warnings
for temperatures of 85 to 89 C. Above 89 C the machine will shut down.

My testing of traytemp on about 20 different puppies on two different
computers has turned up two issues:

1. Both the 32 and 64 bit versions of slackopup 6.3.2 do not work
reliably using traytemp. The reason is unknown. Older and more
recent slackos and derivatives do not exhibit any problems.

2. On my laptop, qbat produced a temp icon when running without a
battery :)
