FUD for Beginners

#1 Post by Lobster »

Yesterday a message I posted to this very forum became invisible.

The Flash installer was trying to connect to the Internet. Even though I had unplugged the Internet cable and have no WiFi. Then my screen started flashing on and off ...

Time to reline my cap with tin foil and send out for assistance. Well I tried to reproduce the flashing to film it ... and all was well again ...
The Chronology Protection Agency (from an Open Source Future) must have saved me

FUD is not a security breach. My problem was probably a cheap USB hub playing up or maybe the MIB turned up and flashed me

Are you safe from your own imagination or in my case ineptitude?

Do you want to talk about it or are you just sharing emotions? ;)

Thanks @musher0

The point is often that errant computer/software behavior is not always what one imagines. My initial solution was to set up a second frugal directory and then try and find the cause. So in essence it is an intermittent situation. Will it return ... perhaps ...

Nooby spent all his efforts being beFUDdled by the possibility of malware. It was all imagination ...

Hmmm, guess you could call this second frugal install a "FUD Puppy"!

Thanks @wiz57

Today a phone call from 'British Telecom'
My 'internet was compromised' said the digitised robot voice.

I don't talk to robots, just verbally abuse them for fun ...
... especially Siri - who should be renamed 'Sorry' - AI indeed ... Artificial Incompetence more like

Anyways ... Using my 'compromised internet', found this is a scam, increasingly common to the unpenguinated. 8)

DUF beer (See Simpsons) will cure most FUD - pour over CPU to fry your FUD problems ... - Do not try this at home
