Xenialpup 7.5 & power control

#1 Post by OldAcer »

Xenialpup 7.5 boots OK on my Toshiba Satellite A105-S2061 but if the lid is closed, it does something- sleeping, hibernating etc? and when it is opened again, there is much disk activity but screen is dark, touchpad ignored, and any keys I can think of useless until hard power off is done.

I have looked and not found any BIOS setting for this. Toshiba has Windows utilities available to download, but the Windows already installed has a control setting which works. It used to be set for "lid closed- hibernate" but I then set it to "lid closed- no action", but that didn't change what Xenial does.

Incidently, Lucid 5.2.8 also boots OK, and when the lid is closed the screen blanks, but then turns on again when opened with no other problems.

Are there settings which I haven't found for power control? "powerapplet" does show battery level.

Any way to locate the information needed for a stand-alone startup program?
