This is rather odd. Gxine plays almost any format without the need of installing extra codec. Since the problem that you are describing happens with vlc too(which doesnt need any codecs to be installed at all), I think it could be due to a bad video driver or something. Are you using Xorg or Xvesa ...

BTW, mine had 512MB RAM, and a 2.8Ghz proccy...

Still no luck with starting X on my Radeon HD 4650. Can I have a workaround for this from the command line? Any help would be highly appreciated. And it would be great to know why X runs perfectly fine on 4.2 but not on 4.3.

I am trying to boot from my 4.3 CD, but X just wont start up. I am on a AMD Athlon X2 250, with an ATI RADEON HD 4650.

Funnily enough, Puppy 4.2 works just fine on my box!!

Anyways I tried it on my laptop and so far it runs perfectly fine. No issues whatsoever, and MU's catalyst drivers work ...

Holy cows!! A ncurses based bittorrent client!!
I havent heard of this rtorrent before ( I only use torrents for my linux distros, and utorrent is proving pretty sufficient) but I had to try this out!!

It works perfectly fine on my frugal puppy 4.2.1. Though I still prefer the simplicity of ...

I just saw this and decided to give it a try..although I stopped using KDE quite a while ago ( and v4.0 just made me ditch KDE once and for all).
A lot of dependencies are missing...but most of the stuff works OK for normal use. I think i will assemble the dependencies into a .sfs file myself ...

I usually dont run many programs using wine anyways. but i did use team viewer a couple of times and it worked perfectly fine.
I think you really should file a bug report to the winedb. they should be able to sort it out in the future versions. Mean while, if you have a different linux ...

Thanks again and best regards.

Thats strange..I have used TeamViewer a couple of times and it has worked perfectly under NT4 mode. But then, I use an older version. I will try out the new version and report it here.
Also, I am not sure that your problem with it has anything to do with the missing libraries, but I ...

I tried out your 1.1.28 and it works perfectly on my install. I guess I already downloaded those dependencies sometime back.

@alix board
you should try out that new version. incidentally, are you trying to run some games though wine? ( i have had a bad experience with that)

Great work playdayz.

Although I have been using *nix for a long time now, so I dont need it for myself. But its good for people and noobs who are scared that a live CD may mess up their system!!

Keep up the good work.

You just cant find a puplet (or any other linux distro) that is made specifically to work with your series of hardware. You must get some stuff done yourself.

Since a puplet is basically Puppy with some modifications, there is no guarantee that it will recognise and run on your hardware perfectly ...
