I would say the easiest way of testing different versions of Puppy, would be to copy the files from the iso (simply by clinking on them within Puppy), then copying the files to a folder and have grub point to them. This way you can test frugal installs which are like running the liveCD. You will ...

It sounds like you have LVM partitions with your Fedora install. Puppy wont be able to see them.
It doesn't look good, I've just read this, which says LVM support has to be compiled into the kernel. So it looks like Puppy would have to be recompiled from source to add LVM support. Make sure you do ...

You can use the unicode for the @ sign, it is 0040, to enter it hold Ctrl+Shift and press u when you have a chance to write, you should then see an underlined u and it will allow to you type 0040, hit space and you're done. This is not an ideal solution, but it should work, and then you can always ...

If you hold down your power button your computer should turn off. I have never heard of ram being damage in this way before and have done it myself many times without problem. But I am no expert and would not like to commit myself, although it will work. Maybe someone can confirm whether or not ram ...

Roaring-Penguin PPPoE Turns resolve.conf into a symlink.
Okay, I don't really know what Roaring-penguin is or does, only that it has something to do with the internet; so I apologize if this is normal for PPPoE. I'm using Puppy 4.2 DeeperThought.
I was checking out the 'network' menu wondering what the different apps did and clicked on Roaring Penguin ...

I'm not sure how you can get the mouse to work, but if you press Shift+NumLock you can move the mouse pointer with the numeric keypad. It's slow and not ideal, but sometimes it is mandatory for you to be able to click on things. (zero on the keypad is like holding down the left mouse button, click ...

The first issue may be as easy to resolve as typing startx at the prompt you were left at. Or typing xorgwizard to go through the video setup again.

Well, resolve.conf for some reason was only a symlink so it was missing information. Using the Wizard created most of the files needed for the connection but left resolve.conf as a symlink.

Can't connect to the www, though all seems well (Solved)
How does Puppy configure an internet connection? I had it working and everything was fine, then my modem needed resetting which is a bit awkward so I browsed through the 'network' menu to see if there was anything that would reset modem. Big mistake! I think it was PureFTPd that broke things. I ...

When installing Grub to the hard drive, I don't think you need to specify the partition, just the drive. So it would be sda, not sda1. Also since you can get into your system with the pfix=ram option, look inside your Grub folder to see which files you have, you should see stage files and your menu ...

I had the same thing when I went to burn an ISO, I just ignored the fact that the DVD had to be blank and burnt it anyway. It came out great! I'm not even sure why you'd need a blank disk in the first place?
