Thank You very much MU - wxMusik is working flawlessly.
I've tried xmms music box already - it's ok, but wx is more suitable to my needs.

Hello, I installed wxMusic from the Puppy Package site as well as the FLAC library (I only found version 7 of it - the link to this older version of the library is not working) and I can't launch wxMusik. Any help? It keeps telling me that it can't find the libFLAC.so4

I'm sorry, it seems I can't delete my post now - my mistake, when I searched for similar problems I noted that there were many QA topics in the Howto forum. Perhaps someone could move it than.

More information? Well... I don't really know what to look for. This is all the information I get. I can ...

Hard disk boot sector invalid - can't boot after HD inst

I've got a notebook with 30gb HD. After zero-filling the entire drive I tried installing puppy to a 1GB ext3 partition (I want Puppy to be my only OS on this machine). It went good, according to the installer (including the installation of GRUB into MBR). However, when I reboot I get the message ...

Dear Friends
I tried to follow these steps once again after my xp installations and upgrading to puppy 2.14 (to let puppy see a windows share folder). LinNeighborhood displays this after I try to scan as user:

Error returning browse list: NT_STATUS_OK

I tried to google this, but information I ...

Erm... Central European fonts could be added. Puppy 2.14 completely trashed all my settings, and installing Polish fonts (so I can type correctely in Seamonkey and Gaim) is a PAIN and I've been unable to set up my puppy correctely ever since. I remember previous editions of puppy required only to ...

Abiword is an excellent word processor. It's enough for a student of high school, or university such as me. Gnumeric is also enough in many cases. However, openoffice split into separate programs would be a great idea, because this would allow us to install only Impress (giving us everything we need ...

How about epiphany? Imho it's even more efficient than Firefox - I use it on my Debian machine. Noone ever considered Epiphany?

Come to think of it - anything with the option to turn off flash (although it is sometimes necessary) would be great, as it is slaughtering my old pc, making web browsing ...

Yes, it's the plugins - I didn't have time to check them all, however the most important for me - enabling openoffice 1 and 2 (sxw and odt) on Puppy work perfect, so I can begin some serious editing now.

Maybe it's the SVG plugin? In Abiwords plugin matrix it says it doesn't work and some of the ...

How to activate Puppy 2.10 Abiword plugins?

Hello
Puppy has plugins for Abiword in /usr/lib/Abiword/plugins directory - so throuh the in-program menu of plugins I go to that directory and try to add some plugins (like openwriter and opendocument), however it says, that it can't install add them. Am I doing something wrong? In the manual it ...

However, faster performance shouldn't be acheived in such ways. Puppy is an important tool for me and I have to say, that I'm considering going back to 2.02. The whole point of puppy was it's speed, and now it's gone. Inklite loads longer than normal inkscape on 2.02 :( :(

Speaking of bloated - do you too have this impression, that the newest puppy (2.10) is slower than 2.02? I think that apps launch much longer. This is my general impression, just wanted to know if anyone else noticed this.

VGA-TV converter - Puppy on a TV screen

Hello
I've thought of buying a cable - TV-VGA converter (Euro ------ Vga/Jack), to watch some movies on a TV from my old computer. Is it going to work with puppy? Or there's no point in buying it?

My hardware:
celeron 700
324mb ram
matrox millenium 8mb
AK 66 C-MEDIA CMI8738 music card

I thought I ...

Re: Puppy on Mac Hardware Anyone?

Besides, to get street cred in this forum you have to run Puppy on a pentium 1 with 32Mb of RAM that you fished out of the river last week and isn't quite dry yet 8)

I'm doing that: on an AT class motherboard with an old AMD 32mbRAM, 40meg hard drive. CPU cooling is passive and it workes. On the ...

Puppy edition with openoffice? This isn't exactely what I had in my mind. OOo is rather big (even if it's still the most popular components such as writer, calc and impress) and not really suitable for my old computer. Abiword is just perfect.

thanks for other advice :)
