Well I wouldn't doubt it. Adblock Edge and Adblock Lattitude have no whitelist option, so you can still block Micro$haft and Screwgle ads.

or read the docs for plus. Hopefully they can be turned back to block by turning off the allow whitelist checkbox.

" Microsoft and Google have paid the German developer of the popular Chrome and Firefox extension AdBlock Plus to whitelist their advertisements, according to the Financial Times.

Companies can pay to show their advertisements to users running the AdBlock Plus extension. "

That's why I only use /etc/hosts and add entries manually by checking browser's about:cache Long and boring at first, but very easy to add new entries after that.
I NEVER trusted programs such as adblock and I was right from the start.

You could also right click an advert on webpage you are viewing and select "Inspect Element", then copy it's address to your hosts file.

Thanks.

https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock
Firefox

You can install by downloading the latest uBlock.firefox.xpi file, and by dragging the downloaded xpi file to your add-on page.Chromium

You can install the latest version manually, from the Chrome Web Store, or from the Opera store.

Feel free to read about the extension's required permissions.
To install in Firefox , click on the .xpi file link near the bottom of this page
https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/releases

then just allow Firefox to install it. I would uninstall any adblocker addon you have in firefox 1st though.

Note for all browsers

To benefit from µBlock's higher efficiency, it's advised that you don't use other inefficient blockers at the same time (such as AdBlock or Adblock Plus). µBlock will do as well or better than most popular ad blockers.

I can't speak for seamonkey though seamonkey takes xpi files also so
someone with Seamonkey must try it.

Have to agree here, Edge or Latitude are worthy choices... no whitelist. I'm running FF browser, and you can also remove the Search-engine Helper Links in about config. IIRC there's at least 4 of them

I thought it was the "Allow non-intrusive advertising" checkbox/option under Adblock Plus' Filter Preferences?

https://adblockplus.org/en/acceptable-ads

Not that I'm advocating it or anything; just thought that that was the option, not the one to completely disable whitelists (especially since I'm assuming it's most likely separate from the whitelists, anyway)

(Note: If you're having trouble with URL links in posts causing problems like making the entire post disappear, make sure there's nothing extra between the [URL] tags, like spaces or periods, and that the URL is correct. You'll see things like the disappearing posts if the board doesn't like something that's in the [URL] tags.)
