Google Chrome 24.0.1312.57 .pet
Hi, everyone.
I made a pet package for Google Chrome 24.0.1312.57.
I have yet to find any bugs in it whatsoever, as opposed to the past versions of Google Chrome and Chromium.
Here is the pet: http://www.datafilehost.com/download-1cd3eb21.html

I know the feeling. xDSemme wrote:Well, it's fine that you offer this pre-pkg'd pet. As for myself, I prefer manual installs..
Although with some pets dependency hunting can be a hassle!
Chromium goes in /usr/lib/ like many other pets, but Google products (Google Talk, Chrome, etc.) go in /opt/google. Pretty strange spot, isn't it? The latest Google Chrome package comes with all dependencies, which is why it is so large. Even has its own built-in media player (some versions of Chromium had super buggy media players).

Leave it to sheepy to accidentally package the wrong directory. T__Tafishe2000 wrote:Sorry the .pet didn't work for me...
The .pet installed the package to a directory /google-chrome 24.0.1312.57 and not to /etc, /opt. and /usr.
Slacko 5.3.3
I updated the link in the post.
Thank you for catching that! lol
I'm running Racy 5.5. I installed Google Chrome from the link in your initial post. The Puppy Package Manager says it is installed but I can't find it under Internet or in the usr/share/applications directory. Where can I locate a copy that will work in Racy 5.5. Same goes for Firefox. The repos have old versions of Firefox.
If you wanna continue with FF, confirm you're willing to play guinea pig. Chrome's a whole'nother ball game.
*Slow response.. I'm take'n this as a no. Quite OK. You can't expect me or anyone else to do all the legwork.
*No response means >> you didn't like what I had to say. Understood. My response- I wish you the best.

Rename both /usr/lib/firefox and ~/.mozilla/firefox by placing a *1* in front of each.
Dwnld the latest tarball and extract to the same.. /usr/lib.
Menu stuff should remain intact. She fire?
