USSD TEL attacks

Apparently some Android phones seem to have a "Wipe all Data" USSD code which executes without a user confirmation. The severity of the problem seems to be dependent on what special codes the phone has.
Apparently some Samsung and HTC phones have been confirmed as vulnerable.

I get nothing of it way above my head but the bad thing is
that if one use a smartphone with android or a Tablet or Pad
with Android and visit a link to a html site with the bad code
that someone put there for this purpose then it reset the whole phone
and without a backup you lose all the info on how to reach people?
Here is a temporal solution?
