Double Commander is a cross platform open source file manager with two panels side by side. It is inspired by Total Commander and features some new ideas.

robwoj44,

Thanks very much for pointing out this filemanager. It has some nice features and user interface with a high level of customization possibilities.

Just download the GTK version and extract the tar file to run in puppy.

Cheers,
s

 Simply mind-boggling! What do we have here? A feature packed, lightweight and portable window manager that works out-of-the box. Anyone who knows Windows Total Commander will feel at home. The excellent multiple rename tool alone would be worth a download. It's still developed and I can't figure out why it hasn't gained more popularity. I use this thing now for 3 weeks and like it more and more ...

What can be easier than ROX's own multi-renaming function?

Seems to come up on my system as Polish language. Is it that way for others too or do I have a problem?

Came up here in English. From their help page:
On the first launch Double Commander will automatically detect the system language, and set it for the interface. DC is translated into 10 languages so far. The language can be changed in the menu via "Configuration → Options → Language"
I deleted the whole language directory which will make it English only.

I downloaded the portable version doublecmd-0.5.10.gtk2.i386.tar.xz

Thre is this thread where the author presents a current Dual-Pane Filemanager in the forum, here. Some will find a long list of reasons to review it. Those who have had familiarity with Midnight Commander will find this right at home for you and your use. It expands with drag-drop and much others useful items.

Hope this helps

I have a short list of reasons not to review it, and for that matter some other powerful "commanders" like Midnight C. or Gnome C.: I failed to install any one them on my Slacko 5.6. Double Commander is the only one in this performance league that didn't give me installation headaches.

packed in ISO dpup stretch for hungary.

Just bumping this thread. Download link from prior post. Worked OOTB in xenialpup64. Appears to support many options and works very fast. A 32-bit version is also available on the publisher's site.

May surpass XFE

Hello everyone.

Who imitated who?
muCommander or DoubleCommander?

They're all clones anyway, they all belong to the same family! :)
(Of file managers.)

There are not that many ways of presenting a user-friendly interface for
file managers!
