I tend to disagree.
That is if you want to install Puppy without booting the CD.
If you install Puppy from the booted CD using the Universal Installer, choosing a frugal install, and then installing GRUB, you should also be good to go.
On this forum, there are some versions of Puppy that can be downloaded as an executable installer file.
You download the file and run it from windows to install Puppy and grub-for-dos.

I think you can do what you want from XP
Create a directory that you want to run the Puppy from
Open the ISO file in an compression/archive program like IZArc
Copy vmlinuz initrd.gz and puppy-whatever.sfs to the directory
Then you need to edit boot.ini to add an entry to start linux. And make sure XP displays the boot menu. Then select the Puppy entry at boot time.
It's not a method that I use, so I can't tell you the syntax. You will need to look it up on the puppylinux website.
NOTE: due to incorrect mastering many Puppy ISOs have corrupted ISO 9660 filenames. They are truncated to 8 characters and capitalised before writing to image.
Lucid 5.28 and Slacko 5.3 both suffer from this. So you would have to rename the files back to the correct filename.
kirk seems to do the Fatdog ISOs correctly.
