Wireless configuration not saved

#1 Post by madchad »

If I'm missing something in the settings to make it load the connection at start up, nobody's been able to point me to it yet. The network wizard promises to load it at the next start up, but the network wizard lies. What I'd like to do is find a way to tell Puppy to do the following at boot:

load Looking Glass (my connection name)
test connection
auto DHCP
save

Please don't start several threads about the same topic. Thanks. :)

That's my bad. I thought it was a different topic since I'm looking for a programming approach to solve the problem. I'll try to delete this one and carry the question over to the other thread.

if it is wifi, you have to press "save" it before "using" it. then it should auto load.

wlan0

I save it every time I touch it, hoping I'll stumble into something while wandering through the fog.

I'd like to add the network manager from Ubuntu, but it's gonna take some research on my part. I'm gonna study programing too and see if I can just write something myself.
