Did you set your boot flag on the primary partition?

You should still be able to boot from the live CD. At the splash screen hit your F2 key and then type "puppy pfix=ram" (without the quotes). That will force Puppy to run in memory from just the CD.

opps. didn't do boot flag I think.
But will not boot from live disk.
Don't get the "splash option. I have seen that during my adventures with puppy 5.3.
All I get is Bios boot and the line " f1 to try reboot and f2 for setup"
no luck. same with live cd

Is the boot priority set correctly in your BIOS? You want CD first and HDD second.
