For security on my Puppy distro, I was wondering:

What is a good Proxy program to install?

This is my first time using firefox, what are good security add-ons for puppy?

I need a virus scanner for both Linux and windows so I can scan Puppy and my PC from Puppy. What is a good program to use for this?

Any other suggestions?

BTW - I boot Puppy from a USB and am using 5.0

Thanks

NoScript and Adblock are two very nice add-ons for Firefox, Seamonkey, and other Mozilla based browsers.

NoScript allows you to selectively block or allow Java, JavaScript, Flash, etc. from being executed.

Adblock allows you to block adds and other annoying things that consume your bandwidth and are generally irritating. This was included
by default in older versions of Puppy Linux and may be included by default in Lucid Puppy, but I'm not sure as I haven't used it with Firefox.

You can download them here.

BetterPrivacy is another nice utility. It allows you to manage Flash-cookies.
You can download it here.

As a side note, it would appear, from my limited look through the sites, that BetterPrivacy is not compatible with Seamonkey 1.1.18 or ealier. If anyone knows of a way of getting it to work with Seamonkey 1.1.18 or earlier, I would greatly appreciate a link.

NoScript in tandem with Ghostery. Nothing will get through unless you want it to get through.

The best defense is to know how to tweak your browser settings. Paranoia helps.
