[REQUEST] Aegisub: plz2petify

I have come to appeal to the better nature of my fellow puppy users.

I would really like to be able to use Aegisub on my computer.

I have seen one post regarding this app on the puppy forums, and it was someone trying to compile it.

To be perfectly honest, I have no business compiling anything, so that's out.

I realize that this has little to no value for the vast majority of you, but if someone is feeling like they want to try their hand at making a .pet, I would certainly love to offer up a test subject.

The app can be found here: http://blog.aegisub.org/

Thanks,
Kaereste

PS: I suppose it might be useful to say that I am running Puppies 4.31.1

PPS: Tried DPup, but it was too complicated for me. Exploring the world of Debian is on my list of things to never do again.

PPPS: Retried DPup. Figured out a few things. It's better now. However, I cannot find a .deb for aegisub, so I'm still, um, sol.

Thank you futurnet, for your time, but this is not what I need.
It would be fine if I wanted to make subtitles. I only want to edit them, line by line, in an existing mkv. My real issue is that I need to be able to edit an .ass in real time while watching the accompanying video, and then check for spelling errors. I've tried Jubler, but the spellcheck is dead.

Thanks,

With subtitle editor you can edit subtitle, you can load english subtitle ass and then traslate it in another windows beside original english windows.
And if you install Gstreamer you can also load the video.
Aegysub its so hard to compile for Puppy because need libgc-2.7 and puppy use an older one version.

I switched to dpup, so getting up-to-date libs is easier, now.

(Good job on using a screenshot of a hentai script, XD. That was silly.)

Anyway, I tried it, and it served me okay, but my typesetter is irked with me now for destroying his work. Somehow, it stripped all the typesetting off of the script. Don't know why it happened, so I don't know how to avoid doing it again.

And if I knew how to compile anything, I'd have done so by now.

Thanks for the effort, though,
s0n1c

RESOLVED!

Found a binary build at http://greg.geekmind.org/aegisub-build/, so no need to get a deb or learn to compile.
Dunno if this is doable outside of dpup (mostly because I am an unabashed linux newb), but I cannot see why anyone with a capable computer would resist the awesomeness that is dpup (find discussion and links here: http://murga-linux.com/puppy/index.php?f=43).

Thanks, all,
s0n1c

Hmm... noticed Aegisub 2.1.8 was just released, and the official source tarballs are available on the homepage... maybe someone would want to have a go at creating an 'official' .pet. :)

(I still have to get around to loading the devx sfs and figure out how to do everything, myself. )

First: maybe for you is silly, but I have not problem due the fact I am a fansubber of hentai and don't think it is a crime. In the world there are thousand of hentai fansubber.
Second: learn to show more respect to other forum users helping you, you are not here to judge.
