I got Puppy installed to a flash drive, and it works fine, but is very sluggish. Watching any video, whether online, DVD, etc.,.....is extremely jerky, and the video/audio are not synched. I'm on a Dell Pentium Mobile/1.6 gHz.
Would this likely be better if I install to the hard drive, or would Puppy likely behave the same? Any ideas?
Thanks in advance....

Will HDD install work better for me than USB flash drive?
1.6 gHz. should have no problem.
Are you running Xorg or Xvesa?
Is video acceleration enabled...look for xvideo when you run the gxine setup wizard .
Flash stick is very unlikely to affect performance...only program launch times....we have a 933mhz machine with no hard drive and usb 1.1 and it plays smoothly.
Run htop..see if anything is hogging the cpu.
