Puppy Linux Version: 4.2RC1
Laptop: Lenova Y510
Using 1Gig USB Flash Drive
Supper Floppy Mode - VFAT

Issue #1:

System hangs when powering down or rebooting. Impact: Cannot save configuration changes.

Issue #2:

Having problems getting flash drive to boot using anything except for super floppy mode and vfat. Super Floppy mode with ext3 filesystem did not work. Also, alto attempts at using ext3 failed...

Last where can I download the latest release candidate, it looks like I saw a bug on 4.2rc3 but rc1 was the most current I could find....

4.2 is at RC4 now.
Maybe your issue is taken care of.
Why not try the RC4 now and report if you still have an issue?

It's in the Puppy Projects section of this forum under the RC4 Bugs & Fixes thread, but don't bother. I'll be uploading the Final within 24 hours.

4.2RC4 Works

I added a bunch of software on 4.2RC4 which seems to have had problems when being written to my USB Flash drive. (ASUS M3N78-VM Motherboard) when I rebooted I got stuck in a Kernel Panic. It's possible I filled up my 1G Flash or the Puppy Save partition, I'll have to look closer.
