Anyone up to creating a GNOME .SFS?

I would be interested. I am exploring tools to do this. The first one I found was here:
http://www.gnome.org/projects/garnome/

However when I tried to install this tool, it would not let me install it with super user priviledges. I would have to be logged in as a different user than root. Anybody know anything about this?

to swqitch from root to another user type this into the terminal
