Boxes versus Qubes

I have spent time trying out Qubes. It has some complicated issues, and it can be really slow. I am not sure it has any security advantage over Boxes, Meaning Barry Kauler's EasyOS.
Well, there are things for Qubes Firewall. Keeping one Box from reading parts of the disk, I do not want it too. But that is a matter of building carefully what to do, when. I can see I might add software to blank RAM when I close a Box, and other things. But that is really consuming resources.
What am I missing?
