Re: Puppy Linux user rating on Distrowatch
I'm glad we're winning in this metric but isn't this just people giving 10s to their favorite distro? As a consequence there is a heavy user bias to such metrics.bigpup wrote:https://distrowatch.com/dwres.php?resource=ranking

The chart shows the top 34 Linux OS's average ratting.s243a wrote:I'm glad we're winning in this metric but isn't this just people giving 10s to their favorite distro? As a consequence there is a heavy user bias to such metrics.bigpup wrote:https://distrowatch.com/dwres.php?resource=ranking
The average ratting is based on all the ratings that Linux OS gets.
That most frequent rating is just that.
What is the most frequent rating given for the OS.
10 is given most of the time or the most often.

Efficient is the thing. Not sure but I think my 64 bit Tahr is about 3 gig and my Windows 10 is about 30 gig. I really do not hate Windows but the puppy makes me wonder how Windows and MS survives.
Re: User satisfaction
Must be 3 Gig with all the extras you have added, the operating system itself is small, about 600MB decompressed.J_D_ wrote:Lobster wrote:Thanks for that @bigpup. Good to know.

@ J_D:
You "really do not hate WhineDose" * ? Geez...
People must find you weird when they meet you in person, eh?
I ditched any form of it over ten years ago in favor of PuppyLinux
and I'm a happier man for it!
No mandatory updates, only theoretical viruses, no back door spying
on me, no need to update my PC -- and I still have all the apps I need
in +/- 5 % of WhineDose's disk space!
(Not to mention the helpful community!)
Long Live PuppyLinux!

Musher0, it is true. People do find me weird. I use puppy most of the time . Maybe 95% or more but from time to time but Windoze has its place on my hard drive. Ever try to update your GPS with puppy ? Aint going to happen. So, I do not hate MS. On the other hand, I will share my puppy with anyone who asks.
