mksquashfs [Working Directory] [DestinationDirectory] -noappend -comp lz4
For max compression you can add -Xhc after lz4

Which one of my remaster scripts do you use, the automatic one (without user inputs) or the one with user options?

That means that your mksquasfs version does not supprt lz4 compression.
