Failed or not? - Xlock

I used Puppy linux a few months ago and I have never encountered any problems with it. I recently blocked my screen with the default "xlock" application and I believe I found a bug in it.
When setting the password and locking the screen, it happened that:
Password used: 30206050#$aB
Enter password: 30206050#$oK
I entered the wrong password to test, and guess what? Yes, he logged in normally. Is there any way to fix this?
By the way, this is my first post in the forum, I believe I'm in the right place. I apologize for any typing errors, English is not my native language.

I have had a similar problem with xlock on xenialPup-706. On which Pup are
you?
My solution was to link the icon directly to the utility at /usr/bin/xlock. Of
course, doing that, I'm losing all the fine tunings provided by the ROX-app
at /usr/local/apps/Xlock. But at least my screen does not jam any more
when I run the screen saver.

There is a length limit to the password.
Max of 8 characters.
Notice your test passwords use the same for the first 8 characters.
Anything after 8 is not looked at.
Change something in that first 8 characters and see what happens.

I am using the XenialPup64 7.5 version, the one made available on the site puppylinux.com. There are no new versions, or are there and I do not know?
