As publicity officer for Puppy I have been a little lax :oops:
Here is my first effort in many years . . .

Sadly the Buddhists involved all have little interest in geeky Linux operating systems . . .

However the ability to display mantra with xpupsay that I am developing might be of interest ...

Hey Lobster, may I ask why you use text to show mantras and not audio files to listen and recite again?

Also do you use original Sanskrit accent or Tibetian?

Sorry if I am off topic-ing the thread like the underwear/password thread.
Just asking as a Hindu, who learned some Sanskrit in school 20 years ago and now have almost forgotten it because of no practice.

I would recommend that the figure speaking this should be in the sihasana posture: alert, but resting like a lion. Image or Image

@drunkjedi
I do use an audio file whilst displaying the idealised yidams chanting. The audio file is in Japanese for the moment. I tend to prefer Sanskrit but often use Tibetan as this was the system I chanted the most with.

I have also chanted to the wer-Elephant deity (Ganesha), in unfashionable Arabic. The first mantra I used a lot was in Japanese. I prefer Hebrew to Latin and find English which some people use, does not work for me . . .

The version of Puppy I use can play a mantra easily from the command line like so

Code: Select all

mplayer −novideo amtb8.wav
amtb8.wav is the name of the mantra/japa/prayer/homage to Olli Octopus or other piece of audio. So I have included this in my xpupsay code.

Here is my page on mantra which may be of interest to Jedi, Sith and the usual suspects . . .

Basically I am re-learning how to use my computer as a point of ritual empowerment. 8)
