@Flash,

Man 'o man...I tried to focus manually...that will take more practice for sure...but I have a few new interesting ones. I am not a trained photographer..more like a good candidate for an automatic cheapo camera..sheesh..but learning.

I started with the built in flash and had some success and yet some failures...hmmm photographers that do wild life shots have gained respect from me for sure..it is very hard and needs infinite patience.

@MU love your room....reminds me of my apartment with my black-lights...it was a mind altering time.

Best,
Eric

Nice rich vibrant coloring & even motion in the second pix. First one looks ~ somewhat dull.

First one is like .."You lookin at me!"

HaHa Eric

Days of Empire, Eh?

/a bit aside

Well the Chatham I'm in, is a 'Historic Dockyard' Town, living on it's laurels, with not a lot going for it to be honest

http://www.chdt.org.uk/

Quite hilly in relation to East London where I came from

Are you close to Lake Erie?

I take it this is your interest:-

Hi Aitch,

Google Essex Ontario Canada and I'm 'bout 15-20 minutes from the very most southern point of Canada....other than Pelee Island which is across a bit of water in Lake Erie.

look 3-4 miles south of Essex to find my farm...

EDIT: my location was up long enough..no need to tempt fate with directions to my house.

Cripes, Eric

You're nearly in motown! - can't be more than 15mls, surely?

You can probably hear it, I'd think, let alone see the glow in the sky

Do you get free phone calls on that contract for the tower?

This is roughly where I am, I haven't pinned it, because I don't have any guns,

but this is the dockyard, which is very close, and they have some old

cannons, do they count?

Oh, and this; HMS Gannet (1878)

Hi Aitch,

Yes I can see Detroit and I spent many a (edited)day there...I see at least the GM Tower from here through the trees and also the fireworks on the holidays..a famous fireworks on the July1st (Canada)or July 4th (US) weekend....they will surely wow you as they are one of the best in the world.

As for Detroit itself..I loved it but I can't go there anymore as I had too much fun there and they said to go home and have fun in Canada..lol

The music!!!! and the people are..... shall I say..THE BEST!!

You're at almost exactly the same latitude as my mom's new home, directly east. Not very far east either. That's all I'll say though.

Hi Aitch

Great map view of your location. Interesting buildings and property and with a view of all the ships being built close by. Was that building and the one next door always residential? They appear quite ornate, but it is hard to tell and I'm always curious of the history of places.

Motown music....the foundation of many mod, pop, rock, punk bands including the Beatles,Beck,Clapton and most of Elvis except his Gospel music from the south...yup the best there ever was happened right here..and many played in the small town of Essex..including Iggy Pop,Seeger,Nugent etc, etc.

It was a good place to grow up. I forgot the Supremes,Gladys Knight,Stevie Wonder and y'all get the point.

Essex, UK, too - [ those were the days, when my pelvis moved like Elvis's]

Just over the Thames from Kent, and strictly my place of Origin, though on the East London border

Those buildings,.... yep, pretty damn old some, wonderful carpentry on huge, often oak timbers, some of which are re-used from olden days ships, & still have notches & tenon/dowel holes through them
Fascinating stuff, history, when looked at that way
- beats Henry 8th hands down
