Problem with the Climate Crisis is it's global. A major player like the US or Brazil bows

immigrants, you can't send pollution ( or CO2 ) back where it came from.

Respectfully.
Please show data where CO2 is linked to global temperature. In all the graphs above, there is no causality between CO2 and temperature.

And in all the graphs above, there is no warming trend.

@backi

This is somewhat like the old dilemma between the philosophical positions of realism
(e.g. that held by Aristotle and Thomas Aquinas ) and idealism (e.g. that held by Plato
and Kant ).

With the realism theory, I really have to kick your a.. for you to feel it! ;) With this
philosophical position, reality is reality.

With the idealism theory, I cannot check if I really kicked your a.., because I do not
perceive reality directly; reality is projected as an image of the outside world to sort
of a screen in my mind. For the same reason, 1) it may be enough for me to think
of kicking your a.. and 2) you may not feel it in either case !

Hint: I'm with Aristotle on this one ! ;) A real kick on a real a.. with a real boot !

I beg forgiveness from professional philosophers for my weak understanding of
these theories!

Here is the list of datasources used in doing the temperature/CO2 graphs.

Code: Select all

curl -O ftp://ftp.ncdc.noaa.gov/pub/data/ghcn/daily/ghcnd_hcn.tar.gz
curl -O ftp://ftp.ncdc.noaa.gov/pub/data/ghcn/daily//ghcnd-stations.txt
curl -O ftp://ftp.ncdc.noaa.gov/pub/data/ghcn/daily/ghcnd-inventory.txt
curl -O ftp://aftp.cmdl.noaa.gov/products/trends/co2/co2_mm_gl.txt
The first one is very large. Once unzipped, you need to cd to the "ghcnd_hcn" directory created by the extraction process and 'cat' them into a single file (Don't do this from within puppy. It's too big. Use an external drive):

Code: Select all

cd ghcnd_hcn
cat *.dly > US.txt
Have fun ... Now you too can be the true light of the world .. 8)

This being a linux open source site and all, would you mind passing that code and the names of the data files used for the graphs?

Got news for you, buddy. Every low lying chunk of sand all over the world's oceans gets built on. Did you see the footage of Grand Bahama and Abacos islands during hurricane Dorian?

But hell, just visit South Beach, sometime

Reality: There isn't a mortgage company on earth that will refuse a loan on beachfront property. That's why Obama just bought a $14,000,000 estate on Martha's Vineyard ..

It is called a beach because it goes under water at high tide
That sand is not solid ground.

Reality: There isn't a mortgage company on earth that will refuse a loan on beachfront property.
Why not.
They all make the people takeout mortgage insurance and property insurance to cover the property.
They get paid if the property is a total loss.
The people pay that high cost of insurance.

Money always talks.
Even stupid people have money!
The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.

There's been "global" cooling where I am. Our November temperatures have hardly reached 20 degrees Celsius when it should be close to 30 degrees this time of year.

I live in the Marshall Islands since the 90s, have seen no evidence of sea level rise nor have any of the lifelong marshallese. The only people here talking about it is the corrupt government which is always flying off to environmental conferences on the tax payers dime of course.

Nobody is mentioning Leonardo DiCaprio
The Hollywood actor who got an environmental award for highlighting the
horror of impending and massive sea level rise.
The Hollywood actor who afterwards went and bought a small island off the
coast of Belize (Blackadore Caye) - max. 2 meters above sea level
The Hollywood actor who then developed it as an "eco-resort"
The Hollywood actor who is then selling the villas there at $15 million each.
Hollywood hypocracy ?????
Never !

It's just a Marxist Doomsday cult isn't it.

I'm in my 40's and we've been on the brink of the apocalypse for as long as I can remember but it never arrives. Protesting here is bloody pointless as well as we're the smallest of small potatoes compared to China and India.

Glad Emma Thompson could find the time to jet over from the US for a bit of virtue signalling though.----------

I think it finally sums it up .

So I went through the program and the provided data be the program author.
Below is the results for the US that this "celebrated" program provides.
And that's without checking the code or updating the data (that miss the last 2 hot years as they are up to 2017)

The maximum temperature is decreased (you ignorant climate terrorists)
But the minimum temperature is increased, it says (Yeah. Nice warm nights)
So the range of temperature change is smaller (Good. Not need to change clothes all day)
Bus somehow the average temperature is increasing (Neah. Should be a program bug...)

PS: Run it with updated data (had to add 2018/9 CO2 data in the script manually) and guess what? Average warming is even higher. Very buggy software...

This analysis indicate that max temperature is decreasing

But (because of green house gasses) we are not cooling off enough so the minimum temperature is increasing

as a result the the temperature range is rapidly decreased

So the average temperature is increased!!!
