On Luci 239 onwards, deleting the zdrive also knackers wired networking for certain and possibly also wireless.

You cannot remove zdrv but you can replace it with smaller one.
Puppy-431JP(Japanese edition) has large and small zdrv.

Luci-243. The big news is the small, fast surprise. Who will find it first?

In luci's case I think it may well be better not to build with zdrv
Why didn't you just say so? Oh. You did. Since we are now down to 132MB we would only need to lose just over 2MB to be able to do that, build without a zdrive. People in favor please suggest specific ways to lose those 2+MB.

On the other hand, I do not think we should automatically consider that a zdrive is less reliable than building the modules into the iso. We could we leave that open while we investigate luci-243?

My *impression* is that the way without a zdrive was more reliable, but two reports at least were due to removing or deleting the zdrive. In that sense we could say it is more vulnerable, but if that doesn't happen, is the zdrive method just as reliable?
On Luci 239 onwards, deleting the zdrive also knackers wired networking for certain and possibly also wireless.
Yes, the zdrive is not supposed to be deleted or removed. But the fact that it was tells us something.

Guess it tells us that it's necessary to anticipate a certain degree of user error.... :)

What's the prize? Dillo.

Live pfix=ram on the main Linux box. Only problem, sound was muted on boot.Easy fix though.
Posting this with Dillo, much better than that cut-down Midori.
Installing stuff on a fresh frugal on the old P3,back in a bit.

James C is the winner.

I am becoming a dillo-phile, maybe because I lived in Austin Texas when it was home to the Armadillo World Headquarters ;-)

We found that dillo would work for LupuNews, for Cups, and for Help. Smaller than midori and faster. And less apt to be accidentally used as a main browser. Plus it's newer, this is the latest version from this past spring as I understand it. We're hoping that it will be more stable also. Win -win- win - win!

Running live on one box and the frugal on the old P3 and I've already lost Firewallstate on both, as soon as I tried to right click.

Fresh frugal install of 243 on the old P3. Only thing, no internet at initial boot. A quick run through SNS took care of that though. Installed Xorg_High and SeaMonkey.

I downloaded the ati driver about a half hour or so before you posted this message, guess it was only partially broken.

Yes, That could be fixed couldn't it. If you right-click and hold you can get the menu, but right-click that should bring up the menu instead brings it up and chooses Quit which is at the bottom. I think that is what is happening.

In adding a printer?
Yes, it came up with some server error just after I selected the printer (I use a special pet and my printer is at the top of the list)
