In the terminal:

Code: Select all

cd /usr/lib
for i in `ls seamonkey-2.0.8/*.so`; do ln -s $i .; done
I'm really shocked and frustrated to find out this fix wasn't included in 005.... damn. I guess 006 will come quickly with this and the CUPS fix, plus all bug fixes we find in the near future.

Once we fix those problems we can show more creativity :)

DaveS: the fix is in the first post.

dpup-005 testing

Same as Brown Mouse. Had to exit to prompt and run xorgwizard to get nvidea 256.35 from lupu to work. In 004, installing the pet, was enough.

Cool one Iguleder ;)
I looked at delayedrun script, aplay command should work for 2barks but for welcome page it might be that it's not starting because we don't have "gtkmoz" set. defaulthtmlviewer and bareview vars are set to defaultbrowser though.

I did an experiment with the static Seamonkey, almost same size but slightly faster cold start times. Also, there is a slight difference when starting the Seamonkey binary while another window is open.

Maybe we can provide a static Seamonkey 2.1 alpha PET for those who the want the latest and greatest :)

Ummmm... dejan555, I'll examine this on Tuesday, tommorow I'm kinda busy, there is a good chance that I won't have even one minute of free time

Maybe we should use a symlink from "mozilla" to "seamonkey" in /usr/lib/seamonkey-2.0.8 to fix all 1.x incompatibilities and blind assumptions

Fresh frugal install w/new save file of 005 on the old P3 test box. Nothing really to report that hasn't already been mentioned.Except that 005 isn't detecting my onboard Intel audio.Sound worked fine in 004.

Thanks for the Print Screen keybinding!

About 005: running well, problems already posted by others above.
( was the non-functional console mentioned?)

I made a little pet for Clocktype, the scriptby DreamsToGo for changing the clock between 12/24 hours.
(cleaned the text a bit too)

EDIT Oct 02-10: .pet removed. This .pet does NOT work! Apologies to the people who downloaded and tried it. The original script seems to be no longer functional and I made at least two mistakes while making this .pet. I tried to come up with something better, but failed due to my very limited understanding of how code works. Apologies again..

Hi guys and gals

Wbar....

This is the binary I compiled in Lupu.. (shouldn't matter, working fine for me) however it includes squeeze imlib2 and it has my gtkdialog wbar setup prog originally written for dpup, modified for lupu now modded back for dpup [  ].

Thanks to Dougal (modified source) and CatDude (help with setup prog)

http://www.smokey01.com/01micko/dpup/wb ... 3-dpup.pet 909k

Just install the pet and restart X, that's it.. then play around with the setup program if you like. You can also use trio's WCC (somewhere in the additional software forum)

Enjoy!

Cheers

Added printer the 'down and dirty' way. However printing fails with this error:

Code: Select all

"/usr/lib/cups/filter/pstopdf failed"

005 has all modules, including the "exotic" ones ... I think 004 doesn't. Need to investigate this for 006.

Also, need to fix CUPS ... need playdayz or someone else with experience in this field.

So far, 006 has:
- The CUPS authentication fix
- The Seamonkey symlinks
- xcompmgr
- wbar

And the goal is fixing the holy CUPS/X/sane combo. I'll try to take a look at cups_fix from Lupu

Iguleder. About CUPS. Playdayz has special templates for cups and for xorg. He posted them in Luci 5.1.1 thread. Check the latest pages.
Also there were problems with ghostscript. Rc5n1 and shinobar made fixes for it. It was about pdf font handling.

gxine is broken for lack of support libraries and maybe some codecs

Abiword displays correctly.

Cannot print to Cups PDF in Abiword. No file is created.
