Yes, PG, I did. I just haven't finished dealing with them so I haven't yet replied. I found and removed the _DEV files from the working packages, so I will need to upload the new copies of the pets to overwrite the ones that included those. I can't remember the other stuff, but I have been working on it. I'm online in 4.2.1 now, but my email is back in my 4.12 install. I'll revisit and reply later. Good luck with the exam!Pizzasgood wrote:WhoDo: Did you get that email I sent out a while back about the inconsistencies between the Unleashed packages and the 4.2 ISO?

No, Jeff, that's another issue and I've handled that one as well. Instead of uploading new copies I've followed Barry's convention and renamed the packages in my Unleashed tree as well as using Barry's corrected packages.txt as the base. Those issues should have been resolved now. The issue of supplying multiple versions of a package with the same name is ongoing. That's why I suggested renaming libgnomeprint-2.18.5 with a ttuuxxx-specific version number to avoid overwriting the older one.ttuuxxx wrote:Barry had a note on his blog that he had to rename some of them, due to improper naming , could that be it?Pizzasgood wrote: WhoDo: Did you get that email I sent out a while back about the inconsistencies between the Unleashed packages and the 4.2 ISO?

You had to say it didn't youMaster_wrong wrote:I hate to say this but... more abiword bug...
copying from seamonkey into abiword can create mess if there is table or special character etc.

I'll see what I can do.

Ok I just tried it on puppies 4.2 and luckily thats the base I'm using, because I don't have that issueMaster_wrong wrote:I hate to say this but... more abiword bug...

But 4.2.1 does, so lets narrow down the differences, they both have the abiword update, This one has the recompiled gtk2 and I think that version has a similar patch. This one doesn't have Pwidgets, hmm thats It it must be Pwidgets, better get rid of the quick WhoDo, lol Just kidding guys. Wait a minute I didn't ask which version is he using? the Broken abiword in 4.2 or the fixed version in 4.2.1?
Master Wrong which version of puppy are you using?

Bad news ttuuxxx. I just tried your GTK, and SCIM did not work. My Wacom worked and the insert key worked, but not SCIM. I tried both the plain version and the full version.
This is very strange. The one I compiled in 4.1.2, using the exact same ./configure command works fine with SCIM.
Maybe there's some supporting library that it automatically compiles against in 4.1.2 but not 4.2.
@WhoDo: Okay, good. Just wanted to make sure it didn't slip through the cracks. An overzealous spam filter resulted in losing me two letter grades on my final score in an easy health class two years ago. So I get paranoid about emails sometimes.

Didn't you also mention that you wanted debug on? I didn't compile with debug because it wasn't in your final script. If you want me to do it again with debug enabled, just say so.Pizzasgood wrote:Bad news ttuuxxx. I just tried your GTK, and SCIM did not work. My Wacom worked and the insert key worked, but not SCIM. also the wiki has a typo http://www.puppylinux.org/wiki/multi-li ... dventurous
./configure --prefix=/usr --disable-qt3-immodule --disable-qt4immodule
should be
./configure --prefix=/usr --disable-qt3-immodule --disable-qt4-immodule
and when I try compiling it that way it doesn't disable qt4-immodule, whats up with that?

the wiki says "Add these two lines to .xinitrc in your home directory. You'll need to be able to see invisible files to do this. (Click on the eye icon at the top of the window.)
export GTK_IM_MODULE="scim-bridge"
export QT_IM_MODULE="scim-bridge"
but if your only using the GTK2 version, which this whole wiki thread is about then shouldn't the QT line above be deleted?
I think so.

Hey Pizzasgood it says
Scim-m17n
*If you already have charmaps, perhaps in another distro on your system, you can copy the charmaps folder or symlink it to a suitable location. If you don't have them, a script will offer to download glibc (which contains the charmaps) for you, but be aware that it's a 17Mb download.
Set me up with which version GlibC you want me to download/Compile and install and I'll continue after that.
Just need the GlibC source and the configure code the way you want it compiled.
