Helllo,

Thank you L18L for your try, i think i will make the 19 spaces after it but i have noticed that the trick is not going to work without at least one English character. So i will make the Arabic name and an English with it.
The menu will become too wide but that's OK. I can live with it. :D

Also got that if there was so many Arabic characters (Maybe more than 20 or 23 character) the sentence will cut off.

jwm

Thanks for trying and not crying :lol:

May be you try also jwm-tools
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... &start=123

Start it
Menu > Desktop > JWM Configuration

Included Arabic is a copy of German and
"Abiword معالج الكتابة آبي وورد " only for now.

Just edit /usr/share/locales/ar/names

It is much faster than using momanager.

Yes, we will have to live with the 19 spaces
I have no hope that Joe will have get it done soon as his last activity on bug fixing was January 2012 :?

Hi again,

I have completed the translation of the Menu categories and entries. All looks good, until i have downloaded the fbpanel, openbox and obconfig from the quirky repo, THEY WORKS (till now). All Arabic characters are perfect, full form, no missing ones, and most important, no need for the 19 SPACES!!. Even the clock day and month are viewed nice, the JWM always kick out the day name (الإثنين=Monday) and the first character in the month name (أكت=Oct) they viewed as 'Day: ,Month:كت'.

It is better but not built in puppy. So when i finish translating the Lang pack i will make one for non-jwm.

Hello BDX;
Please see this:
http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic. ... 417#660417
It may make things easier for you.
I have translated pfind and network wizard in the past but that was before gettext and mo/po files were used. Frankly, I don't know how to use those new formats!!
Best wishes.

Dear don570,

thank you for trying to teach correct Canadian English.

I have no idea what subjunctive is and I do not really want to know what it is.
You might promote the slogan Let the games commence if olympics will ever come to Canada.

Back to topic of Arabic langpack:
That has already commenced some time ago
My wish May Arabic translation continue is about continuation after the break caused by buggy jwm.

My regards

Hello,

Actually I got busy with my studies, and since I downloaded the precise puppy, installed it and it doesn't work quite right (sometimes it didn't load the Kernel).
I was a little disappointment of that thing and I lost hope in precise puppy.

I formatted my old XP to 7, and I don't want to use lin'n'win on 7 system.
But, I still on my Wary by a flash drive (I don't use it a lot).

I really want to say "Thanks"......After your posts I'm going to continue the translation. I'm getting back my hope in puppy, so I will.

Thanks

I tried an Arabic translation of copy-fast
using yudit.

I noticed an odd bug. (underlined in red) Notice that the English
number is in front of Arabic phrase.

Here is the code that causes the bug....
$VERSION is an English number.

Code: Select all

<window title=" '$(gettext 'Fast Copy')'    '$VERSION'" resizable="true" decorated="true">

Seems you have forgot to read it from right to left. :wink:

...and "English" numbers are Arabic numbers.

Yes. You are right. The number should be on left side. :oops:

Xdialog must have some way of checking for a number if
Arabic is locale.

I compiled newer version of yudit for precise (and recent puppies)
