That's exactly what I expected/hoped .... something must be wrong in my system, maybe due to old hardware, as I often have to repeat startup 2-5 times to get all programs loaded.

you may have "stale files" which is caused by
improper shutdowns

I dont know if the newer versions of puppy still have
the option when you boot up
to select the pfix options (this comes up in the first five seconds when you boot up)

if you do have that option available select
puppy pfix=fsck what that does is repair your save file


which most likely is corrupted
if the terminal isnt working correctly

Re-booted computer.... no difference. Managed in only typing, not pasting in "terminal" and found I obviously must consider the whole text as being 1 line, no enters in between?

Terminal seemed to eat that but I see no changes. Looking at flashplayer, right mouse click .... "version" and using shown update link, can download the tar.gz with only options to storage and/or open with pupzip, see no way to install.

Maybe I must know more to handle this.

Re-booted computer using puppy pfix=fsck. Seemed to work all right, did not take much time.

No changes seen, flashplayer has not updated.

(Puppy lucid 525).

Package Manager says I have 183
Firefox/Adobe says I have 181

I made the script a clickable file

you dont try to install this like a "package"
it does the downloading and installing for you


just un compress it then
and click on flash-updater

it asks if you want to install click ok
it take a few minutes because it downloads the file then installs it in the background
when its done a box pops up for 3 seconds and says its done

hope this makes it easier

Thanks, it acted (4x) like you described but the last "confirmation" does not pop up and nothing is changed. Packet Manager says 183 and Flashplayer keeps saying 181. No "Flashplayer" mention appears in the plugins list in Firefox (should it?).

Youtube works. Maybe only the Flashplayer version number fails to change "officially".
