Hi

What a nice little puppy this is - great file manager and as a puppy to run hot (ie no save file) it is quick and easy to get into Xvesa, setup network and then on the internet - nice.

Only wish it had Opera - otherwise, very nice.
Runs on my 6yr old Acer laptop just fine in only 243mb ram, 2.5Ghz celeron proc. and a small swap partition (250ish mb).

Maybe I should find Opera.sfs and load.sfs and see if I can load on the fly - that would be cool.

Anyway - nice work - and it may have smp enabled as it has the same kernel as Wow.
Can't test it as I don't have dual-core kit.

However - a trip to the local PC store with a bootable USB stick - might be the answer.

Tried out on a HP2133 notebook from a flash stick.

Booted just fine so good on the hardware detection.
X only ok with Xvesa but xorg configured but froze...this is an odd via graphics chip and usually xorg loads its vesa driver ok so not sure what is happening there.

Good points are later alsa so audio card works fully standard puppies won't play.
Also this kernel is compatible with existing sfs files ...converting every sfs that I have (or may want) is something I do not look forward too and then of course older puppuies won't run...erm silly
xfce..only wm I use...good one
Firefox 3 seems stable...nice to have a proper play with it and yes it is fast on those javascript bloated sites.

Bit confusing having 3 file managers..thunar is smart, rox is familiar but hardly a problem as this is overall a very pleasent puplet......what would be the situation towords kernel drivers ...is anyone making any for this kernel or is it a case of home brew?

Oh ffmplay...I kept crashing it...I think?!? popping in ttuuxxx's vlc with the winamp5 skin would round things off nicely.

It reminds me of simplepup which got me taking puppy seriously in the first place...a bit of solid class goes a long way

long time lurker, 1st time poster....
for whats its worth techtype i think this distro is great. i like its style & look.
i have it on a rescue USB stick and it works 'out of the box'. i needed it today to get some urgent printing done and it worked - 1st time for me printing in linux.
lots of other stuff has worked for me on it including gparted, abiword, xorg.

Yes............. I get the black screen on shut down with intel video, so cant save............... 2.0 please.........

Sorry to disappoint you guys, but I don't work on pups any more. I made some further versions of DeltaPup but they contain a lot of private data since they were not intended for public release. I'm not even sure if I remember how to prepare a release, as I was not using the scripts but was remastering by hand. Since Mint 7 came out, I just stop by here to see what is going on. These days, I work on Mint or Windows 7. It was fun here, Puppy was my first Linux and I learned a lot from this board!!

I'm sure that you will find a newer and better pup if you keep looking.

Enjoy Mint man, its a nice distro, but also give Crunchbang a shot......
