It possible to use the mypaint paint application on a 64 bit puppy linux distro and edit a layer in an external program such as mtpaint or GIMP.

I have found that to edit a layer externally in Puppy linux requires a small addition.
Instructions:
Download mypaint 64 bit version 1.3
Available:
MyPaint-1.3.0-git.0b19fce.glibc2.15-x86_64.AppImage

Next step:
Download mimeinfo.zip and extract the file 'mimeinfo.cache'
and place it in the folder /usr/share/applications/
Next follow the instructions given in the youtube video
i.e. select the mypaint layer and right click select "Edit layer in External app'
A list of possible apps should appear. (see image)
TIP:Remember to save the file in png format with your external app.
