Guys, if you're still after a MS paint replacement, you might like to check out Rassam-paint.
Do you know a good gtkdialog program? Please post a link here

I've always been annoyed by these Lazarus apps being big because they're statically compiled... and the build environment is depressingly huge, too. But it seems that they might be relatively easy to develop.

Mypaint !
Try Mypaint with VanPup here
Corel is a HUGE tool ! I had it at work on a computer in ... 1996 !
About Title topic, Gpaint or Gnu Paint is available in the forum. I am using it now (titles on pictures).
(Mtpaint will do 95% of graphic works and is available in all puppies),

Can I run Pinta on Fatdog64?
I am getting ready to download Pinta, and try it out on Fatdog64? Any advice before I just click on it and download the tarball. I was going to run the binary first, before trying to build it. I guess I would just download the Ubuntu version, or is there a Puppy-specific or Fatdog-specific version? I have Gimp and MtPaint but they don't have the usual MS Paint tools like Pinta has, they are more for sophisticated image editing.Geoffrey wrote:Good to see you have it working, though if you run that code in the terminal it will work from the menu entry.Warrior522 wrote:I found that all I have to do was go into usr/share/pinta and click on the program file and it would load fine, no other steps needed. One desktop shortcut later and I'm in business. (assuming i can figure out how to set the canvas to be manipulateable and how to import images...)
To import, that is under the layers tab, import from file, it's not a bad paint program though I prefer Gimp.
Any advice appreciated. Thank you.

Well, I guess Mono is M-soft (.net)
So I would need to register dlls for that, basically install all that. It's funny - I don't want to do that. Even if Pinta is great, I'm just not looking for that type of thing. I'll keep up my search or else I'll start writing. I'm good at GUI so perhaps I can write my own little editor. I actually had to do this once in a company.
I might also simply try to do the job I have to do on a Windows machine that has MS Paint.
Sorry, didn't mean to open up what might have been a dead thread.

Yes, I've tried Rassam paint
and run the program.
You just have to click on all the buttons at the top to figure out how it works - it has open, save, save as, undo, redo, etc..
So far I've read in a file that I need to add rectangles to, and it can make rectangles (and other shapes).
And you can change the thickness of the line which is essential.
I notice it DOES have redo and undo.
It definitely has a chance to allow me to finish this little design I'm doing.

I know this is an old thread, but people watching may also want to try Hotshots.

Give one or all of these a try. They work well under Wine in Tahrpup.

I use version2013's WINE 1.7.51 in all my Pups. MSPaint runs perfectly under this.
I've enclosed a link to the original mspaint.exe file, and a Menu Entry for the same. Place mspaint.exe in /root/.wine/drive_c/Program Files, and install the Menu Entry .pet.
https://www.mediafire.com/folder/o9d4k9 ... _MenuEntry
MSPaint will start from the Graphics menu. There is a delay of a few seconds, so please be patient.
Enjoy!

I also run PhotoFiltre, as mentioned above by rockedge, under WINE as a Windows PortableApp, from here:-
https://portableapps.com/
The difference with these, as Mikeslr has posted about elsewhere on the Forum, is that they don't install to the WINE 'container'. In fact, they'll run from anywhere else except the WINE container.....! If you attempt to 'install' their .exe files as normal, they'll balk, hang, and freeze; for our purposes, the .exe file is essentially your launcher.
Mike.
